We Offer for your consideration these antique Pince-nez eyeglasses. These eyeglasses came to us in a box that included Engraved signature plates from a business called Dreka Engraving & Stationery House 1121 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia. Dreka was a well established engraving business in the mid to late 1800s. These eyeglasses may have belonged to Louis Dreka or perhaps one of his employees? These eyeglasses, we believe are of French manufacture, we have found a few on museum sights that seem to support this. They are steel, perhaps silver plated, but the plate has deteriorated in places. The cork nose rests are in very good condition, and the spring set-up is very cool. There are signs of corrosion, but this could be remedied with a good polishing. They came to us loose, but we will find a suitable hard case for you to store them in. If you are a collector of antique eyewear, or a Victorian era reenactor, or perhaps you frequent Steampunk events, these will be a very cool addition to your accoutrement. The devil is in the details, as they say. This item is in the category “Clothing, Shoes & Accessories\Specialty\Vintage\Vintage Accessories\Eyeglasses”.
