Harlequin better known as cat glasses where first designed and came into vogue by Altina Schinasi in the late 1930’s. These are the last pair from my Great aunts Estate. She lived to 92 and passed away in the early 90’s. They have her extremely strong prescription and it is highly doubtful that most people could wear them and see. In essence you are purchasing the very beautiful frames which feature translucent tortoise shell color Bakelite with carved work design on front and sides of frames, with small original aurora borealis rhinestone accents and fabulous star shaped finish ends on holding screws. Shaped in the classical cats eye. Marked Frame France El inside arm and back of front is marked 46/22. They are in over all very good vintage condition with tight hinges and minor only normal wear surface scratches and or flea bites. There in better condition then my own personal glasses. I dont see any cracks and they appear to be aliened. Circa early 40’s. Measures 5 1/2′ across front with a 6 3/4′ span and Just under 1 5/8’L. Arms are 5 1/4’L and 3/8’W. Track Page Views With.
