1960 Men’s (unisex) Amor Browline eyeglasses frame, tortoise & gold filled. The color on the paper label reads “2-20 Jasper Brun”. Looks like tortoise/dark amber. Gold-filled frame with high gold content. Although not marked gold filled, we tested the frame with gold test acid and the frame tested for high gold content, NOT just gold plated but gold Filled, a big difference. Gold plate will dissolve under the acid test but gold filled will not. The frame is marked “Amor 20mm” above the nose guard with a shield mark on each side, – and one of the sides is marked ” 140 Amor , made in France, France Frame”. On the inside of the other arm is the original paper label reading “2-18 Jasper Brun”. In excellent to near mint, UNUSED condition. ————– This frame came from the inventory of a closed C. The shop was closed sometime in the 1960s-70s and the contents put in storage till now. We have some of his tools and some store displays that we will be listing later. There are approximately 50 pair of Amor eyeglasses frames to list, most browline, semi- rimless, men’s and women’s (in my humble opinion, the pair in this listing is the best looking set of the lot) and 50 to 75 pair of Amor browline part sets which go on the frames above the eye and enables you to change the browline color. The adhesive strips on the browline parts will need to be replaced since they are approximately 50 years old. The browline parts are in Bronze, pearl, and black and are in 2 styles, the straight browline and the outside curved back style. There are lots of other Amor spare parts, so contact me if you need a particular part for your vintage Amor eyeglasses frame. The only spare parts that were not in the boxes were the plastic nose and ear guards. As for condition of all this, most is un-used, but when they put the inventory in storage, most of the items were unwrapped, or not bagged and loosely thrown together into boxes for storage, so while the frames and spare parts are mostly not absolutely Mint, the are still in excellent to near mint un-used condition. – We will try to list a couple of pairs each day.
